The Texas A&M University school year has just begun and we’re incredibly excited to have a new, amazing group of residents. To kick off a great year at The Standard at College Station, we planned a calendar jam-packed with a variety of residence life events to give our residents and their friends the opportunity to meet and mingle with their neighbors and to enjoy spending time in our luxury amenities.
Week 1 – Back-To-School Bash
For our first resident event, we held our back-to-school bash on the rooftop pool deck. We had a DJ and saw nearly 200 new faces! We were so glad that our residents got the chance to hangout, listen to great music and get a little sun before the school year really got going.
Week 2 – Breakfast On The Go
Week two, we held Breakfast on the go in the clubroom! We were so excited to provide our residents with Chick-Fil-A breakfast before their first day of classes. A great night of sleep, and then a great breakfast spelled success for the first 150 residents to get after them!
Week 3 – Bar Tab At Chimy’s
During our third week of resident events, we held a bar tab at Chimy’s, which is just a short walk from The Standard. Our residents pounced on the chance to unwind and absolutely packed the house! We gave away promo and everyone had such an amazing time!
Week 4 – The Standard Soda Bar
For our fourth resident event, we held The Standard Soda Bar in our Clubroom. Our Community Ambassadors served up the coolest Italian and “Dirty” Sodas all day long! We had nearly 150 residents come down and then another 50 or so came back for refills!
Week 5 – S’more’s Social
Week five, we held the S’more’s Social at one of the three Fire Pits on Property. The Standard Staff made individual S’more Kits, and the 75 Residents that showed absolutely tore through them! We loved seeing all of the mingling and bonding they were able to do after that night of warm snacks, cool vibes and great music!
Week 6 – Be The Match
Our very last week of our 6 in 6 events, we hosted Be The Match in our Lobby. 50 Residents joined the Be The Match registry of donors and have their hats in the ring to answer the call and save a life if needed. We have the most selfless bunch of residents ever and our representative for Be The Match was so excited about the turnout! This just goes to show that Standard Residents are absolute lifesavers – literally!
Our team has had such an amazing time getting to meet our residents over the past 6 weeks. Here at The Standard at College Station, we strive to create the best experience in Texas A&M off campus housing and hosting a variety of awesome resident events is just one part of achieving that. Keep an eye out for more events to come, we’re looking forward to a great year!
