Classes at Texas A&M University are back in session and that means our residents have been making their way back to College Station, TX for another great semester here at The Standard at College Station While we hope everyone had an amazing holiday break, we were excited to help kick off TAMU Spring 2022 the right way with a variety of residence life events!
On Monday, January 21st, we started off our Welcome Back Week with School Supply Bingo in our Clubroom. Residents were excited to join in the fun and win some great semester kickoff packages that included a new Backpack, a planner, and even a Hydroflask Water Bottle! Residents came by the front desk and picked up bingo cards all day, and we even hosted this event through Zoom to ensure anyone that wanted to participate could.
Day two of Welcome Back Week, we held Hot Cocoa Bar in our Front Office. Residents popped by once (or twice, considering how cold it was outside) to warm themselves up with fancy hot cocoa. Some residents took home Standard Mugs and even more got to mingle and meet their new neighbors for this semester!
On Wednesday, we held our Happy Planning Event in our Study Rooms. Residents brought their Syllabi and planned out their successful semester with a planning PRO! We had a Teaching Graduate student speak about what planning means, and how much more successful students can be when they just get their plans on paper. Residents that attended were also entered to win a planning kit complete with stickers, notebook flags, and colored pens!
For day four, we provided Breakfast on The Go in our Clubroom. Residents rushing to class snagged Chick-Fil-A breakfast on The Standard as they headed to class. We were so excited to see so many happy tired faces so early in the day! We loved hearing what people love about The Standard at College Station, and this was a great chance to get some wonderful feedback from you, our residents!
Our very last event of Welcome Back Week, we had a spa basket giveaway at The Front Desk. We had almost 40 people come to claim their spa kits to help them start their weekend off right! Face masks, peels, rollers, and scrubs were all up for grabs as residents came home from a long week of schoolwork. Everyone was so excited to get to their rooms and kick back, starting their weekend off by pampering themselves.
It was an awesome week getting our residents geared up for a successful semester at Texas A&M! We love having the opportunity to provide a best-in-class, TAMU off-campus housing experience to our residents, and hosting a variety of engaging events is just one of the many ways we strive to accomplish that.
